From Hardship to Hope: My Story of Faith, Service and Purpose

My name is Michael Morris, and my life is a testimony that your past does not have to determine your future. I am a proud West Virginian, a United States Army veteran, a healthcare worker, a small-business owner, a husband, a father and, most importantly, a man saved by the grace of Jesus Christ.

My journey has taken me through military service, addiction, homelessness and some of the darkest seasons of my life. But God did not abandon me. Through faith, hard work and his amazing grace, I found the strength to rebuild my life. Today, I have been clean and sober for 21 years, and I share my story to remind others that no matter how far down life takes you, hope is never out of reach.

Serving My Country

One of the proudest chapters of my life was serving in the United States Army during Desert Storm and the Gulf War era. My military experience taught me discipline, sacrifice, teamwork and what it truly means to stand beside others during uncertain times.

Some memories never leave you. I still remember the sound of the SCUD missile sirens and the reality that every service member understands—freedom is never free. The unseen forces that veterans fight a silently battle long after coming home. My time connected to Fort Campbell and the 101st Airborne strengthened my respect for every man and woman who has worn our nation’s uniform.

That experience became part of the foundation of who I am today. It is also why my business proudly honors veterans, active-duty service members, military families and the American values that unite us. Every patriotic design I create carries a piece of that gratitude and respect.

More Than 35 Years of Serving Others

For more than 35 years, I have had the privilege of caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant. My healthcare journey has taken me through emergency care, medical-surgical units, long-term care, home health and private-duty care.

Healthcare taught me that every person deserves to be treated with dignity, patience and compassion. I have cared for people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives, and those experiences strengthened my desire to encourage and serve others.

Working long hours and night shifts was not always easy, but caring for people has never been just a job to me. It has been part of my purpose. The same compassion, honesty and commitment that guided me in healthcare now guide the way I serve customers and build my business.

Proudly Rooted in West Virginia

West Virginia is more than the place I call home—it is part of who I am. From the Appalachian Mountains and winding country roads to the creeks, coal communities and small towns, the Mountain State represents strength, perseverance and a deep sense of belonging.

West Virginians understand the importance of faith, family, hard work and helping their neighbors. We remember where we came from, honor those who worked before us and stand together when times become difficult. These values have shaped my life and the way I operate my business.

Many of my designs celebrate the people, natural beauty and proud heritage of West Virginia. They are created for Mountain State natives, Appalachian families and everyone who may live miles away but still carries West Virginia in their heart. Because no matter how far life takes us, every country road still feels like it leads home.

Why I Created Faith to Freedom

I created Faith to Freedom because I wanted to build something with a purpose greater than simply selling products. This business brings together the values that have carried me throughout my life: faith in Jesus Christ, love of country, respect for veterans, West Virginia pride, family, hard work and the belief that people can overcome difficult beginnings.

My apparel is designed to help people proudly wear the stories, places and values that mean something to them. Whether a design celebrates Christian faith, military service, Appalachian heritage, coal-country families, fishing, camping or the beauty of West Virginia, I want it to create a connection and start a meaningful conversation.

I also create digital guides and educational resources to help hardworking beginners understand digital marketing, Shopify, print-on-demand and online business. I know what it feels like to begin again without having every answer. My goal is to make the journey easier to understand and to encourage ordinary people who want to build something better for themselves and their families.

Faith to Freedom represents transformation—from fear to faith, hardship to hope and simply surviving to living with purpose.
